The Kitzhof Inn was built in 1958 in an Alpine style by the original owner who had many children and wanted to call the Inn the Kids House. He skied in Austria a lot and as a result wanted to build a lodge in that style. He also wanted an Austrian name to match, so he named it Kitzhof which means " Goats (kids) House".
Simon and Alison are the fourth owners and took over in September 2005.
Many additions have been made to the building over the years but the original style has been kept. The cedar log alpine construction is unique to any other Inn in the area.
You get to the front garden and fire pit by crossing the pedestrian covered bridge (added in 2006) which crosses the brook.
Renovations were made to the pool area in 2007.
