Skiing
Our main mountain is Mount Snow just 1/4 mile from the Kitzhof. You can drive or take the MOOver free shuttle bus directly to the base and ticket area. Stratton is just 35 minutes away.
The Kitzhof can order Mount Snow ski tickets provided you have given us 72 hours advance notice.. Stratton tickets must be puchased directly from the mountain.
The Kitzhof Inn is within a few minutes of Mount Snow resort which has four mountain areas (Main Mountain, North Face, Carinthia and Sunbrook), and offers a variety of terrain suitable for all outdoor enthusiasts. It boasts a two-mile-long novice trail from the summit, 100-yard-wide intermediate trails and an expert North Face that includes Ripcord, Mount Snow's steepest trail and one the the steepest in New England. Did you know that some folks are happy to just hang out? There you can find everything you need - from tubing to equipment rentals to a comfortable bench with superb mountain views. They even have a Waffle Cabin that serves fresh, hot, yummy waffles. See for yourself! Vermont's only all-park mountain face Freestyle terrain at Mount Snow is about to get a major makeover.
Carinthia mountain face is open to freestyle terrain parks , transforming 95 acres of trails into a massive park system.
Everything is on Carinthia this year.
A smorgasbord of rails, jumps and halfpipes will cover nearly five miles of terrain at Carinthia. A snowskate playground, hikable park, beginners’ learning park and a skate ramp will surround the base area, while the base lodge itself will be renovated and outfitted with lounge areas, an extended outdoor deck with ample seating, counter seating along the windows, free wireless internet, flat screen televisions and outdoor fire pits.
The Kitzhof Inn is within 35 minutes of Stratton Ski Resort .
Stratton Mountain is more than a ski resort. It's a mountain resort offering you freedom to explore nature with amenities close at hand. Play golf or tennis, go hiking or kayaking, then relax with your family and hike or ride in our gondola to the summit. You will see views only the highest peak in Vermont's Green Mountain range can provide.
At Stratton they have had a long-standing tradition of shaping snow for thier riders. The Stratton U.S. Open halfpipe was built here back in 1988. Today Stratton offers 5 different terrain parks that cover more than 45 acres of hill space. In addition to their standard parks, check out the Power Park and Power Superpipe.
Cross Country Skiing
We have an excellent cross country park, 5 minutes from the Inn.
Timber Creek is located at the bottom of Mount Snow on route 100. You can wonder explore the snow-covered forest on cross country skis. Trails range from novice to pro, a great way to enjoy the Vermont mountains.
We do not take bookings in advance at the Kitzhof. You will need to contact Timber Creek directly.
Snow Mobiling
Try a snowmobile tour from High Country Snowmobiles or Twin Brooks Snowmobile Tours. Both companies offer a variety of tour options (hourly, half day, full day, evening and private tours). Special request tours are available with advance notice and reservations are recommended. We do not make bookings in advance at the Kitzhof. You will need to contact the companies below directly.
Mountain Biking
This is a summer persuit only
The Mountain Biking Capital of the East, nearby Mount Snow area offers terrific mountain biking with over 45 miles of mountain bike terrain consisting of single-track, old town roads and ski trails.
