Mothers for Daughters Ride May 15 - 17 2009

Last Year

Our first Mothers for Daughters cancer charity event was a great success.
The goal of the event was to raise awareness of cancer affecting women, and raise money to benefit research to fight ovarian and breast cancer.
The weekend started with a welcome reception held at the Silo Restaurant on Friday night. The participants stayed at The Gray Ghost Inn, The Doveberry Inn, The Kitzhof Inn and the Big Bears Lodge. After a hearty breakfast 130 riders gathered at the Gray Ghost Inn to start the 139 mile Poker Run which took them in a loop through Dover, Wilmington, Bennington, Manchester and Bellows Falls and back. The winning hand, a full house, was won by a woman from PA staying at the Kitzhof Inn.
The awards dinner was held that night at the Silo Restaurant. A good time was had by everyone and the meal was staffed by owners from the participating Inns, who helped in plating food, serving and washing up. Awards that night were given for Best Hand, Worst Hand, Best Supported Chapter as well as others and recognition awards were given for the participating businesses.
Special thanks were given to Sharon Alves from Gate City HOG and Magnus Thorsson who jointly conceived and organized the event.
The event raised $7093.50 for ovarian and breast cancer research charities. Checks will be issued by The Dover Motoring Group, a sub group of Celebrate the Valley Inc.

A deposit equal to 50% of your stay is required at time of booking to secure dates. All rates are subject to State and Local Taxes.
Cancellation policy. If cancellation is received 14 or more days (21 days for holiday periods) prior to arrival, the deposit will be refunded less 15% handling charge. Within 14 days prior to arrival (21 days for holiday periods) there will be no refund on the deposit. Please remember that a reservation is your commitment for the full period that you request. If you leave the Inn before your reservation has expired or arrive late, your entire fee will be forfeited. Deposits are applied to the last night of your initial reservation.
